Philosophy Summer Camp

The 香港六合彩开奖直播 Philosophy Department will be hosting its inaugural two-day Philosophy Summer Camp August 5-6, 2024. This day camp for high school juniors and seniors will feature activity-centered sessions led by members of the Philosophy Department, spanning a variety of exciting topics. Students who attend will enhance their reasoning skills, discover how philosophical ideas can help us solve problems in the real world, become aware of how studying philosophy can improve career prospects, and become better prepared for college.

Eligibility Requirements

 

  • Participants must have either Junior or Senior status in High School for the Fall 2024/Spring 2025 Academic Year.
  • Participants/Parents/Guardians must provide their own transportation to and from 香港六合彩开奖直播 main campus each day of the camp. If you are traveling from far enough away to require an overnight stay, you will be responsible for covering your own lodging costs. The nearest hotel is on campus - the .

 


RSVP Instructions

 

  • The RSVP must be completed by the student's Parent or Guardian.
  • Required information includes Parent/Guardian contact information and Student's name and grade level.

 


Philosophy Summer Camp Schedule (tentative)

Day 1 - Monday, August 5, 9:30am-3:45pm. Location: 香港六合彩开奖直播 Main Campus

  • 9:30-10:00am: Orientation and Introductions with Prof. Hepburn and Prof. Bondy.
  • 10:00-10:15am: Break.
  • 10:15-11:30am: Living Wiser Lives: Virtue, Relationships, and Identity with Prof. Castro and Prof. Lu.
  • 11:30am-1:00pm: Lunch and Campus Tour.
  • 1:00-2:15pm: Rational Imagination: Thought Experiments, Logic Puzzles, and Good Reasoning with Prof. Bondy.
  • 2:15-2:30pm: Break.
  • 2:30-3:45pm: Social Justice: Children's Rights, Animal Rights, and Philosophy of Law with Prof. Sterrett.

Day 2 - Tuesday, August 6, 9:30am-3:45pm. Location: 香港六合彩开奖直播 Main Campus

  • 10:30-11:45am: Philosophy of Humor: Art, Fun, and the Meanings of Life with Prof. Castro.
  • 11:45am-1:00pm: Lunch at the Ulrich Museum.
  • 1:00-2:15pm: Philosophy of AI with Prof. Sterrett.
  • 2:15-2:30pm: Break.
  • 2:30-3:45pm: Philosophy at Work: Synthesis and Reflection with Prof. Hepburn.
